By the late eighties a new genre of music had culminated from years of music of the mind with a meditative spirit. Experimental sonic layers of tranquil sound, known as "new age," mixed jazz with elements of conscious, as well as subconscious music. Enya's "Orinocco Flow" and "Caribbean Blue" became landmark recordings that spread a peaceful uplifting vibe. Some new age evokes a dreamlike utopian visionary experience. |
