1/11/09 - To date 292,754 "distinct hosts" (ISPs or computers) have accessed TangentSunset.com. For the past week distinct hosts served is 838 and successful server requests is 4260. The most downloaded recording is the sample of "Students of Mind Control" with 922 downloads.

12/31/08 - As a New Year's Eve surprise, the Sonic Rain album is completed after a year of recording. The result sounds like a demo that was made up on the spot. New recordings include "Sonic Rain," which was originally written in 1997, "Sun Insider," and a strange keyboard-based instrumental called "Mystical Allegiance," which was actually recorded in San Diego in 2006.

12/13/08 - Alex records new versions of songs for the Sonic Rain album. The re-workings include "What Was Once Jaded Is Now Faded" and "Jumbled Together," which should be credited as the first "songversation" because it sounds like a hundred different songs layered on top of each other.

Although it is the second podcast sent in, KYOU Radio labels it Tangent Sunset #1, since the first one does not air.

5/24/05 - George Peterburs, who has been been part of the Beat Villains and Tangent Sunset projects over the years, passes away at age 46 in Sacramento. Despite his athletic appreciation and reputation for staying in shape, he suffers a heart attack after an evening of basketball. George played in several bands including Spy Plane and the Darwins. He was a very kind and thoughtful person as well as a talented musician who will be missed.

5/20/05 - As the iPod has become a big seller the past few years, the craze has marked the beginning of podcasting. Tangent Sunset's first show is 14 and a half minutes containing a new acoustic version of "Where Do We Go From Here" and a rant over strange percussion called "Anyone Can Have A Hit." The mp3 is sent to Infinity station You Radio (KYCY 1550 AM/San Francisco - heard online at www.kyouradio.com), which is a station that on Monday became the first "open source" station devoted to podcasts.
