TANGENT SUNSET

ROAD TO MY SUMMIT
words by Alex Cosper and Frank Simmons, music by Alex Cosper
vocals and all instruments (guitar, bass, drum programming): Alex Cosper

This is the same old story
it's one you've heard all your life
it's about how time keeps ticking away
no time to find the meaning of life

And time, time rolls over us all
yeah, time keeps rolling on by
we try to freeze it with pictures and sound
spinning round in the baron's eye

And in the dark we chase the shadows
never looking back at the silent stares
we've turned inside the chains of freedom
in the lapse of truth, does anyone care?

We're craving the moonlight
something to guide the way
breaking rhythm
on the road to my summit

Riding off in the sunset
getting back to some conscious vibe
no thanks to rhyme or reason
no chance of letting it slide

And once again the fear is upon us
undelivered by the dreams of the purest kind
undiluted by the nonsense they feed us
with what I know and still I'm blind

We're craving the moonlight
something to guide the way
breaking rhythm
on the road to my summit

Thinking you're ahead, better look inside
bright fire to fall, dark ladder to climb
something to hang on to is overdue
something in this most mental state
fleeing oblivion on the road to my summit
